Busy Bears grew from a project originally run by Scarlett Smith Dunn called Paws for my cause.
Scarlett was 11 when she decided she wanted to raise money for NSPCC and came up with the idea of adopting bears in exchange for a small donation. Her project started small and she had bears up for adoption to be collected in the Harrogate, North Yorkshire, area only. News of her amazing idea spread and she ended up on Look North. Scarlett then offered postage to send bears out to their new homes – she tells us the furthest she has sent one is Canada!
Scarlett set herself the target of raising £500, however she raised an amazing £813! Since she well and truly met her target, Scarlett has been kind enough to share her ideas with us and now Busy Bears have taken over finding homes for the cuddly toys.
Busy Bears would like to thank Scarlett for her hard work and giving us the opportunity to learn about running a small business.
